["Bitter, fat, ugly, lonely webmistress" ]

My name is Helene and I am the person creating and maintaining the Men Jokes pages. I'm also the author of a small part of the jokes on this page.

I have been told I must be a very weird, bitter and desperate, lonely, man-hating, lesbian, ultra-feminist (etc) woman with an IQ equal to my dress size, no life and way too much time on my hands since I bother to keep this site...

Now isn't that flattering....? But... No. I must claim to be just an average swedish woman. Perhaps not the classical little housewife type. (after all, not many swedish women are these days).

I've often wondered, though, why so many people automatically assume I must be ugly, lesbian, sexually frustrated and fat, just becuase I find it amusing to collect jokes? It has become clear that the purpose of this website is often misunderstanded. Some visitors seem to believe that I hate men, that I don't know any other kind of jokes, or that I'm on a mission to tell the world these jokes are some undisputable truth. It's a bit sad, because I actually happen to love all sorts of humor and jokes, the naughtier - the better! ;-) and I LOVE Men! - No doubt about that either, but I must add "providing they have a sense of humor".

I have collected a page of feedback from people, both men and women, who, in my opinion lack the ability to laugh at themselves.

Then, of course I get tons of positive feedback too, in fact so much I wouldn't ever be able to publish it. (Those who want have their feedback instantly published, please use the Message Board or the Guestbook)

Lately, it has been pointed out to me that the main reason for the negative feedback might be how the Men Jokes are used by my visitors. I'm fully aware of the fact that not all women visiting my page share my love of men. However, most women do. I hope. And I have always felt it's really not my job to tell people how to interpret or how to use these jokes. I just provide them.


But then again, as this site has become a powerful resource I should probably remind my visitors that these jokes are not to be taken seriously by either men nor women. Of course all humor has a grain of truth in it, but if you read my jokes and determine them to be completely and entirely true, or completely and entirely untrue, perhaps it's not so funny anymore.

Not everyone come here searching for men jokes either. Some guys are looking up "Blonde Jokes", accidentaly ending up on my page. I can just imagine their disappointment... ;-)
